As part of Alexandria University’s strategy to strengthen its academic presence across the African continent and expand its international partnerships, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, and Eng. Mohamed Riad El-Keiy, Head of the Sector supervising the Chad branch at Arab Contractors Company, signed an addendum to the contract for completing the first-phase construction works of the university branch in the city of N’Djamena, Republic of Chad. The works include the Faculties of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine.

The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. Dr. Affaf Al-Oufy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Dr. Gehan Gweifel, Assistant President for Internationalization of Education and International Branches; Prof. Dr. Mohamed Zaki, former coordinator of the branch; Prof. Dr. Abdel Aziz Omara, Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture; and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Nassar, project consultant.

In his remarks on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim emphasized that this project reflects Alexandria University’s vision of engagement with the African region and its role as an active regional and international academic institution. He noted that the university’s presence in Chad goes beyond geographical expansion, representing a true investment in human development and the building of bridges of knowledge and scientific cooperation between Egypt and sister nations.

He further added that the university attaches great importance to this strategic project, which aims to prepare qualified professionals in agriculture and veterinary medicine, thereby supporting development plans in Chad. He also highlighted that this cooperation reflects the depth of academic and developmental relations between both sides.

Dr. Abdel Hakim also praised the long-standing partnership with Arab Contractors Company and its extensive expertise in implementing national and international projects, stressing that this contributes to ensuring the project is executed according to the highest quality standards and within the designated timelines.

Eng. Mohamed Riad El-Keiy stated that signing the addendum for completing the construction works of the Alexandria University branch in N’Djamena reflects the strong and fruitful cooperation between the company and the university in delivering educational projects with a developmental dimension across Africa.

He noted that Arab Contractors Company is proud to participate in this vital project, which embodies Egypt’s national efforts to strengthen its academic and developmental presence in sister African countries. He added that the company possesses extensive experience in executing projects outside Egypt in accordance with the highest standards of quality and commitment.

He further explained that the Alexandria University branch project in Chad represents an important model of integration between engineering expertise and academic vision, contributing to the establishment of a comprehensive educational institution that supports development and human capacity-building in Chad.
