Faculty of Pharmacy Organizes Awareness Seminar on “Renewing Religious Discourse and Building Youth Awareness”

As part of Alexandria University’s commitment to promoting enlightened thinking and reinforcing the values of tolerance and moderation among its students, and under the patronage of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized an awareness seminar titled “Renewing Religious Discourse and Building Youth Awareness.” The seminar was attended by Dr. Sherif Rostom, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Lamiaa Khamis El-Shafie, Coordinator of Volunteer Activities at the University, Dr. Heba Ashour, Director of General Programs at the Faculty, along with a number of faculty members and students.
The seminar was delivered by Sheikh Dr. Ibrahim El-Gammal, Director of Preaching and Chairman of the Fatwa Committee at Al-Azhar in Alexandria. During the seminar, he discussed the concept of renewing religious discourse and its importance in keeping pace with contemporary developments, stressing that renewal does not affect the fundamentals of faith, but aims to develop the methods of religious communication in a way that meets the needs of society and counters extremist ideologies.
In his speech, Dr. Sherif Rostom emphasized that sound religious awareness is a fundamental pillar in shaping an enlightened university personality, pointing out the university’s keenness to instill the values of moderation and national belonging among its students.
Dr. Lamiaa El-Shafie highlighted the importance of a simplified and accessible religious discourse capable of addressing young people’s questions and building bridges of dialogue and proper understanding away from complexity.
The seminar witnessed notable student engagement, as participants raised various questions and contributed to rich discussions on the role of clear religious discourse in building enlightened youth awareness.
At the end of the seminar, Dr. Sherif Rostom expressed his gratitude to Dr. Ibrahim El-Gammal and all attendees, and presented him with the Faculty Shield in appreciation of his efforts and participation in this fruitful event.

The Faculty of Economic and Political Science Organizes a Charity Exhibition to Support Small and Micro Enterprises

Under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs and Acting President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Economic and Political Science organized a charity exhibition to support small and micro enterprises, in cooperation with Al-Alpha Foundation for Development and Vocational Training, headed by Ms. Heba El-Qurash.
The exhibition was held at the Faculty premises from February 15 to 17, 2026.
The opening ceremony was attended by a distinguished group of executive and community leaders, including Dr. Magda El-Shazly, Head of the National Council for Women in Alexandria; Dr. Marwa Khalil, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Enas Diab, Former Head of El-Horreya Creativity Center; Ms. Heba El-Qurash, Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees; Eng. Ahmed Gharib, Secretary-General of the Foundation; and Ms. Randa Farag, Head of the People of Determination Secretariat. The attendees expressed their appreciation for the exhibition’s concept and its role in empowering small business owners and supporting sustainable development efforts.
Dr. Sherine Nosair, Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Political Science, stated that organizing this exhibition stems from the Faculty’s firm belief in its academic and community role in supporting entrepreneurship and empowering small and micro enterprise owners. She emphasized the Faculty’s commitment to establishing effective channels of cooperation with civil society institutions to help qualify youth, enhance their competitiveness, and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, in alignment with sustainable development goals.
During his tour of the exhibition, Ambassador Yasser Alawy, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director of the Diplomatic Studies Institute, praised the high level of organization and the diversity of the displayed products. He affirmed that local handicrafts reflect remarkable creativity, innovation, and competitiveness, contributing to strengthening the national economy and promoting a culture of self-employment and entrepreneurship.
The exhibition is organized as part of the Faculty’s ongoing commitment to activating its societal role and strengthening partnerships with civil society institutions by providing a platform to showcase and market successful and innovative youth-led projects, in support of economic and social development.



Faculty of Agriculture Organizes a Workshop Titled “Soil and Water: The Source of Life” in Celebration of World Soil Day 2025

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Agriculture organized a workshop entitled “Soil and Water: The Source of Life – On the Occasion of World Soil Day 2025” at the faculty’s Conference Hall.
Prof. Dr. Heba Sabry Salama, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, stated that the workshop’s activities coincided with the celebration of World Soil Day, and included a series of scientific lectures addressing key topics in soil and water sciences, such as the use of artificial intelligence in agricultural research and the importance of smart agriculture in enhancing soil safety and urban health. These discussions reflect the global trend toward sustaining natural resources and innovating scientific solutions to environmental challenges.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Gamal Atwa, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, explained that the workshop featured a competition to evaluate graduation projects submitted by students of the Department of Soil and Water Sciences, during which the sponsoring company presented special support for the best innovative project idea.
During the event, Eng. Sami Faiz, Chairman of GROWTHCHEM, highlighted potential future cooperation between the company and the faculty to support scientific research aimed at developing practical solutions to soil challenges and maintaining ecosystem balance.
The workshop was organized by Dr. Anwar Abdelrahman Ali, Head of the Department of Soil and Water Sciences and Workshop Coordinator, and Dr. Ali Saeed Mostafa, Workshop Secretary, in collaboration with GROWTHCHEM, and was attended by a distinguished group of faculty members, teaching assistants, and students.
At the conclusion of the workshop, certificates of appreciation were presented to the speakers, members of the organizing committee, and the sponsoring company in recognition of their contributions to the success of this distinguished scientific event.


Faculty of Engineering Organizes a Purposeful Student Theatrical Performance

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel Hakim, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Professor Dr. Afaf El-Awfy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, attended the theatrical performance titled “No Matter How Clearly We Anticipate and Define Human Behavior”, presented by students of the Faculty of Engineering at Alexandria University. The performance was held at the Conference Hall, Lecture Hall (1), Faculty of Engineering.
The event was attended by Professor Dr. Walid Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Professor Dr. Wael El-Maghlany, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; and Dr. Iman Harraz, Lecturer and Supervisor of the Artistic Committee at the Faculty of Engineering.
The performance addressed the concept of rejecting classifications and preconceived judgments imposed on individuals, emphasizing that judging a person should be based on a genuine understanding of their circumstances and environment, conveying a meaningful humanitarian and societal message.
The Vice Presidents of the University praised the distinguished artistic level of the performance and the impressive talent demonstrated by the students of the Faculty of Engineering Theater, affirming Alexandria University’s commitment to supporting student activities, encouraging artistic creativity, and promoting the role of purposeful art in raising awareness and fostering positive values among youth.






Students of the Faculty of Agriculture Achieve Advanced Positions at the First Afro-Arab Agricultural Forum

Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Agriculture at Alexandria University participated in the activities of the First Afro-Arab Agricultural Forum, hosted by the Faculty of Agriculture – Cairo University.
Professor Dr. Heba Sabry Salama, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, expressed her pride in the outstanding results achieved by the faculty’s male and female students during their participation in the forum, affirming that this excellence reflects the high level of preparation and continuous support provided for student activities. She also extended her appreciation to the University and Faculty Youth Welfare Administration and the Students’ Union for their efforts, which contributed to the success of the participation and its distinguished representation.
The Dean of the Faculty explained that the faculty participated with a distinguished delegation comprising 53 male and female students who took part in a wide range of activities and competitions, including scouting, artistic, cultural, scientific, sports, and social activities. This participation resulted in remarkable achievements, as the students won a large number of advanced positions, أبرزها included the following:
